In a world filled with mass-produced items, I love the design and workmanship of vintage furniture and the unique beauty it brings to a home. At Rail & Stile, we specialize in bringing new life to vintage furniture. More and more though, we find that homeowners want furniture that has the same style and quality as vintage but with modern-day sizing and updated functionality.
That is why we have expanded our offerings to include handcrafted in-house furniture. Each piece celebrates vintage designs but sized for today’s living. Our debut collection is called Modern Ming, launched just this week. The collection is inspired by mid-century Chinoiserie profiles and, like all of our furniture, can be customized with your choice of lacquer color, finish and hardware.
For this collection we focused on family living spaces and the pieces that make them work. We have a credenza that is 35” tall!. It features two roomy cabinets with an adjustable shelf in each. Plenty of storage! The brass semi-circle pulls from Modern Matter modernize this beautifully. This piece comes in two sizes - 70” long or 60” long. The server features a single top drawer and a roomy cabinet with an adjustable shelf. The Modern Matter brass knobs and semi-circle pulls offer a lovely combination.
Modern Ming Console at 30” tall is the perfect piece everyone needs in their home. It is wonderful as is, but also complements our matching stools perfectly. The pair sit nicely within the large console. This is a show-stopping addition to any entryway or living space.
The coffee table works in every living room and we have a range of popular sizes to choose from. Matching end tables are the perfect resting place for a book, cup of coffee or cocktail.
The last piece in the collection is a writing desk that will help you upgrade your home office in style. The large can take center stage in your home office, while the small desk can play well in any size nook you choose to convert. It features a spacious work surface, ample leg room, and 2 top drawers with lovely modern brass pulls or drop ring pulls - your choice!
Each piece in our Modern Ming Collection is available in one of our 19 shop colors. We can customize further by building in a fine stained finish. We can also alter sizing and hardware selections for an additional fee.
